3 Peaks Yacht Race

What an experience that was, three friends, all professional sailors, 2 top runners and “still Smiling” a Sigma 400 yacht.

But that was not all, we had a great support crew behind the scenes and thought we would give it a go, we surprised a few, at one time lying in 3rd place and on course to set one of the fastest times on the leg to Fort William, a spinnaker crash in 38 knots of wind and round the keel it went, by the time we managed to free it the main sail had begun to shred, using only the Genoa and now a battered mainsail the wind dropped and we limped home 8th out of 25, not bad, the runners were amongst the fastest on the mountains, and who knows where we would have finished!
